Game 36

It's Mother's Day and to go along with the pink bats many players will be using, this post will also be in pink for the same reason...breast cancer awareness. As for the game Virgil Vasquez makes his Major League debut tonight as the Tigers try to sweep the Twins. It's also the Tigers first appearance on ESPN's Sunday Night baseball, so no pressure rook. The Tigers look to win their 12 out of 13 games since getting humiliated by the Twins on April 29th.

Post-Game:

Tigers 4 Twins 16

The Curse of Andy VanHekken lives on. VanHekken was the last Tigers rookie to win his first start, something Virgil Vasquez came nowhere near. Vasquez got shelled tonight, and didn't make it past the third inning. So did everyone else that took the mound wearing the Olde English D. Not the sort of pitching performance when you are heading into a four game series with the team with the best record in the AL. The Twins scored runs in every inning except for the 2nd. Not a good day for Detroit sports in general as all teams playing lost.

Tiger Hero:
Magglio Ordonez. Hit his 7 home run of the season and is averaging just under one RBI a game.

Tiger Zero:
Tigers pitching. 16 runs on 22 hits. This was Virgil Vasquez's first major league game, what are your excuses Grilli, Ledezma, and Mesa?

Superheroes:
Moms everywhere. Please if you have means, donate to fight breast cancer here.

Tigers Record:
